Good point on the union. I think if I were dividing MLB into eras, there are a couple of good markers: the end of the deadball era, integration, the union. Maybe there's something else I'm forgetting off the top of my head. Now that I think about it, the end of the Braves on TBS was a major shift too. Man, I miss that, and the Cubs on WGN. Thanks for reading!

Very true about the Braves/Cubs endings on Superstations being a partition in MLB eras. Those teams were a HUGE part of my childhood/teen years in Florida. The Boys of Zimmer!?!?! Just an awesome time. In a completely reverse way, it might be similar to the advent of The NFL Sunday Ticket, kinda ruining chances of a lot of young transplanted ones becoming fans of their current hometown teams. Now they root for their Dad's teams. Period.

Yes, it should come as no surprise that I struggled to transition into dating when I reached my teenage years.

^ loled at that

Also, Braves games on TBS!

Also, Barnstorming was no doubt cool. I wonder how different it might have been had the MLBPA existed then. I tend to think of MLB in two eras. Pre-union and post. Would a union have approved of it if wages weren’t as dramatically oppressed as they once were? I’m just thinking out loud but loved the piece!

Great piece. I don't read much about barnstormers even though it's an important piece of baseball history. It's also good to know MLB was a bunch of corrupt POS even back then.
