You are right, hearing the names you mentioned with the Rangers in "91" you would have thought they would have done better. But as you said, baseball is a funny sport, sometimes a team just doesn't jell, lack of leadership, majurity, timing, etc.
While back in Kansas I picked up the powder blue Royals T-shirt, Kansas Jayhawks & Chiefs T-shirts. Just in time for the Kansas upset of Oklahoma, wore my KU T-shirt proudly Sunday. 😉

And if you're interested, I've started doing some work at Kings of Kauffman. Exclusively Royals related stuff. Here's the second piece I wrote for them, which just came out today. It talks about Kevin Seitzer replacing George Brett at 3B for the Royals in 1987. I think it turned out well.
Liked your recent post! Several teams this year had similar re building processes. Losing 105 games and then climbing 3-4 years to get into the playoffs. Thanks for doing what you do, take care.
